ArdakazMC has three main rules:
== Griefing ==
Modifying other people's builds without a permission is called '''griefing''' and it's strictly prohibited here. This includes following actions:

== No griefing or stealing ==
* Breaking or placing blocks.
Harming other people's builds is strictly forbidden. That means:
* Taking items from or putting items into containers (chests, barrels, furnaces, armor stands etc.).
# Do not destroy or modify someone else's build without their permission.
* Killing mobs or other entities.
# Do not take items from someone else's container without their permission.
Terraformed areas are considered as builds. It's also possible to claim a small area using a sign. That kind of claims are no longer valid if the players becomes inactive.
# Do not kill players. PVP is off except in some designated areas. Traps are allowed but trapped areas must be clearly marked to warn players.
# Do not kill pastured mobs or animals inside a build.
# Harming the server is also forbidden so don't build lag machines or chunk loaders.

=== Exceptions ===
=== Permissions ===
* You can connect into public infrastructure like roads.
Permissions to do above things are usually given via signs. For example, you can allow your friend (Steve) to build with you by writing following into a sign: ''Steve has perms to modify my builds''.
* You can use people's farms as long as you replant the crops same way.
* You can break single blocks etc. that don't have any purpose
* Use signs or chat to give permissions. Chat-based permissions are always temporary.

'''NOTE:''' We have an advanced alert system that reports all grief/stealing for blocks that are not your own. You will also see an alert in-game, if this happens. Mods are able to see the alerts even off-game and WILL know what has happened. In case of accidents, apologies are accepted and mods will assume good faith. Not responding to moderators or leaving the server without resolving grief or stealing will result in banning. Repeated rule breaking even after promises to follow the rules will also result in banning.
Temporary permissions can be also given in chat. They will expire in 24 hours.

== No spamming, bullying or discrimination ==
Also, if two players are logged in from same IP, they have full perms for each other's stuff.
Be nice in chat:

# Do not spam. Repeating same thing many times or just typing nonsense into chat is spamming.
=== Other exceptions to above ===
# No personal attacks against other people.

# No racism, homophobia, transphobia, sexism or any other discrimination.
* Breaking simple builds without any purpose (single blocks, temporary bridges etc.) is allowed. Ask from a moderator if unsure!
# No topics that are inappropriate for children. This includes explicit builds.
* Connecting into public infrastructure like roads is allowed.
* Crop farms can be used as long as you replant the crops same way.
== No cheating ==

Do not use any mods that can give you an unfair advantage towards other players.

The rules in spawn.

You must follow these rules while playing on the server. Rule breakers will be permanently banned. If you are unsure about something, feel free to ask from moderators. Please use common sense!

Griefing

Modifying other people's builds without a permission is called griefing and it's strictly prohibited here. This includes following actions:

  • Breaking or placing blocks.
  • Taking items from or putting items into containers (chests, barrels, furnaces, armor stands etc.).
  • Killing mobs or other entities.

Terraformed areas are considered as builds. It's also possible to claim a small area using a sign. That kind of claims are no longer valid if the players becomes inactive.

Permissions

Permissions to do above things are usually given via signs. For example, you can allow your friend (Steve) to build with you by writing following into a sign: Steve has perms to modify my builds.

Temporary permissions can be also given in chat. They will expire in 24 hours.

Also, if two players are logged in from same IP, they have full perms for each other's stuff.

Other exceptions to above

  • Breaking simple builds without any purpose (single blocks, temporary bridges etc.) is allowed. Ask from a moderator if unsure!
  • Connecting into public infrastructure like roads is allowed.
  • Crop farms can be used as long as you replant the crops same way.

Chat rules

These rules apply to chat and signs.

  1. Spamming is not allowed.
  2. No any kind of bullying.
  3. No racism, homophobia, transphobia, sexism or any other form of discrimination.
  4. No topics that are inappropriate for children.
  5. Advertising other servers is not allowed.
  6. Do not impersonate staff.
  7. Do not break the law.

Client modifications

It's not allowed to use any mods that give you an unfair advantage over other players.

Allowed mods

  • Performance improvements (like Optifine)
  • Any purely aesthetic modifications
  • Minimaps (without underground)
  • Inventory sorters and shortcuts
  • Build aids like Litematica
  • World downloaders (only for your own builds)

Disallowed mods

  • Mods that allows you to fly, jump higher, run faster or move through blocks etc.
  • Fastbreak/fastplace
  • X-ray
  • Invincibility
  • Fullbright

Other rules

  1. Killing players outside PVP arenas is not allowed. This includes luring or teleporting players into danger.
  2. Traps are only allowed if trapped areas are clearly marked to warn players.
  3. Do not build lag machines or chunk loaders.
  4. Do not build anything that is violent or explicit. This includes references to genocides, terrorism or wars.
  5. Bypassing the AFK check with macros or similar is not allowed.
  6. All warps have to be useful and their surroundings look nice.

How the rules are enforced?

I must admit I've never seen an actual server ran like this before. I don't know how this manages to hold up and work but its a miracle which makes it special. – 16.png Headcruncher1

Unlike most servers, we don't have land claims or similar protection against griefing. To keep the vanilla gameplay, we have a different approach:

  • Every action is logged so moderators can check who griefed. They also get alerts about likely rule violations.
  • Due to this, grief is also very quick to repair and harmful people get banned before they do any serious damage.

Special areas

Some special areas have a little different rules:

  • All kinds of builds are not allowed in the spawn. Read more here.
  • Griefing is allowed in the main island of End. It's for everyone.
